Indictment Issued Against 2 of the Duke Lacrosse Players

A state grand jury issued two indictments against two Duke Lacrosse players. This means that there is now a formal charge against these two players for committing a serious criminal offense.

The indictments have been sealed by Superior Court Judge Ronald Stephens but there is a possibility that they could be unsealed as early as tomorrow morning.

Again, before we rush to judgement, understand that an indictment doesn't mean much. The saying goes "before the Grand Jury, the prosecution could indicte a ham sandwich." There is no defense argument, just the prosecutor providing evidence to the jury. This means as little if not less than the lab finding no DNA.

This doesn't need another post; just important to know the names and see the faces.

Man, these boys lookin just as smug as ol boy who took Natalee Holloway for her last ride. Rich, priviledged, get-away-with-anything white guys. 70-85 percent of rape cases have no matching DNA, so if these guys in fact did it,or know who did, I hope they go down to the fiery pits o hell....then again, I am not gonna be the first one to cast stones. :-P

I can just see Chappelle dressed up as Samuel L. right now... "Yes they deserve to die, and I hope they burn in hell!"

Seriously though, I pray the truth in this messy situation is brought to light. There's alot riding on it.

I heard on radio, today some evidence that made me do a double take. Apparently they found her broken nail in the bathroom, and she ran out of the house with only one shoe on, leaving behind her other shoe and her purse with $400. Some critics had mentioned she broke her nail in fighting for the money but it does not sense to that is ended up in the bathroom, who negotiates for their pay in the bathroom. And who runs out without her shoes on? Unless something emotionally painful has happened or the house is on fire? Her vaginal area had trauma consistent and with rape (or rough sex, if ummm.... its your thing-KB8 reference)

Add that to the low frequency of positive DNA in rape cases (70-80% have no positive match) and the statistic that despite bitter male opinion a VERY low number (5-8%) of rape allegations are false. I feel very suspicious that SOMETHING happened. I am not sure of the details but I am glad that the DA went ahead with the charges in the face of such a suspicious string of facts.

I know this is gonna sound awful, but living in Chapel Hill (eight miles from Durham, having graduated from UNC) and now attending NCCU -- i'm just tired of this story...
