Rhymefest Responds

While John McWhorter, my favorite black conservative, would try to poke more holes in Rhymefest's letter to British Parliament than a groupie with a prophylactic, I applaud him for making a civil and articulate attempt to promote open discussion with regard to the relevance and influence of rap.

Sadly, Rhymefest is one of few artists in our beloved genre to articulately express himself with his pen in a civil manner. We need not look any further than rappers recent comments on Oprah Winfrey's dillemma with hip-hop to see that we have a long way to go.

Hopefully Rhymefest will start a trend of civil articulation -- preferably devoid of finger snapping.
