Beyonce and Jay-Z Secret Wedding: Something Rotten In Denmark

I’m not one to spread rumors, which is why I hesitated to write about the Jay-Z/Beyonce secret wedding in the first place. Brother Spotless, however, sent me a story from CNN and I’m forced to open my mouth with the information I know. CNN reported that a spokesman for Beyonce denied reports that a secret wedding was in the works.

A spokesman for the R&B songstress Thursday denied reports surfacing in gossip columns and the Internet this week that she and her rap star-turned-music executive boyfriend planned to quietly tie the knot this coming weekend.
Likewise, a spokeswoman for Jay-Z told Reuters she had no knowledge of impending nuptials for the couple.

A friend of mine from work told me about two weeks ago that she had a friend who was planning to get married in the Caribbean. That friend received a phone call asking her whether she could change the date of her wedding. Astounded at this proposition, she said no. Wedding invitations had already gone out and travel plans had already been solidified. The other person on the line then explained that Jay-Z and Beyonce wanted to get married on the same weekend and assured the woman that they would do everything in their power to make sure they could accommodate them on another date. The woman again refused. A few days later the woman was contacted by Beyonce’s people in an attempt to coax her into changing her wedding date. Again, she refused. Her wedding just passed so I believe the plan was actually to marry a week or two ago.

There is something rotten in Denmark, however. It makes little sense that they were simply planning a birthday party. Who would try to convince a woman to change her wedding date for a birthday party? I know they got money, but that’s just wrong. Given my source, this most recent statement by the spokesman and spokeswoman for Beyonce and Hov, respectively, is grossly inaccurate.

Life is but a beach chair...
