Question of the Day

At least 17 people were killed in two bombings in Algeria today. One of these bombings targeted the office of the Prime Minister in Algiers (Algeria's capital). I understand that people are dying everyday in all sorts of ways that are deserving of our attention, but I'm curious as to what people think about this and whether our reaction/concern might have been different if, god forbid, the office of the Prime Minister of France had been bombed?

Personally, my reaction is stronger and more sympathetic knowing that "the average person" was hurt. Not that anyone deserves to be bombed, but citizens don't start wars, governments and regimes start wars. In a perfect world, those who are responsible for waging war would also be responsible for fighting in it and run the same risk of casualty as everyone else.
